The Grid is a light-weight structure of unique depth and openness. This tensile architectural system is a covering system, made up of overlapping cables oriented in different directions. At each crossing point, the cables are connected to form a gapped grid to which membrane panels like PVC coated fiber, PTFE or any other foil can be attached, which then work together in tandem to create the tension forces, that support the structure.
The canopy in this system comes in different shapes and sizes, which is defined by the geometry of the contour plan, and its different heights. The crossed-cable structure, produces a synclastic surface that stiffens with curvature and ultimately creates a minimized visual impact of supporting elements.
This eye-catching structure improves the quality of living and walking spaces by reorganizing public areas and removing obstacles that may impede greater freedom of movement. Advantageously, the system also offers lighting at night and ultimately produces an iconic landmark structure.
